I wanted to share with you the results of our first wine tasting competition that happened over this last weekend. For those of you thinking, how does wine tasting connect to mediation, my answer is sometimes after a hard day in mediation, you might need a nice glass of wine.
So here they are, 20 wines under $20. I have ranked each of them based upon approximately 30 people tasting them and ranking them. The maximum score was 25 points with 5 points for each category (aroma, flavor, appearance, overall impression & drinkability). I must also point out for the wine aficionados, that some of the wines were bought on sale by some of the participants.

The Wines Listed By Ranking
Entry No. Name of Wine and Type Score out of 25 18 Novella Cabernet 2006 17.5 17 Novella White 16.9 12 Norton Malbec 2008 15.8 5 Jacob’s Creek Cab. 2005 15.8 3 The Zin Zinfandel 2006 15.7 9 Tapiz Merlot 2007 15.4 16 Walter Clore Red 2004 15.3 14 Silverado Vineyards Merlot 2005 15.2 4 Bernardus Chardonnay 2007 14.7 11 Contadino Pinot Grigio 2008 14.7 13 Rosenblum Chateau La Paws Red 14.7 2 Del Tesoro Zinfandel 14.5 19 Naked Merlot 2006 14.5 20 Chianti Classico 2005 Banfi 14.5 7 Beaulieu Vineyards Estate Merlot 13.8 10 Bridlewood Viegnder 2007 13.8 15 Firesteed Pinot Noir 2006 13.6 1 Tapiz Merlot 2008 13.1 6 Reynella Shiraz 12.8 8 Lucas & Lewellan 2004 (Red) 9.2
Congratulations to the winning wine submitted by Sarah Bolin. Of special attention, wines no. 5 & 15 had substantial conversation about them and were the early favorites during the night. The winning wine suddenly dashed out from the back of the pack and won the wine competition glasses down.
Thank you to all that participated.
Steve

Thanks Steve! Yes, I am excited about teaching at BHBA next month. I have some fun ideas. If it is a hit then I was told that I can teach an advanced class that will offer MCLE credit and Alec Wisner has offered to assist me. YIPPEEE!! Now I wish I had a glass of wine … lol (no wine at the office)
I am mediating a TRO case tomorrow… two local attorneys contacted me and sent me over the briefs.. wow … will I have my work cut out. I am very excited because this is a huge opportunity for me to shine here in Riverside to get more attorney cases… wish me luck!
It is easier mediating when parties are being represented by attorneys. Pro-pers are a real challenge. But, I love mediating with a passion and growing everyday!
How have you been ? I bet busy!! Thanks again for taking the time to share your ideas on social networking. You are very kind Steve!
Talk soon!
